The minor who shot Miguel Uribe reveals who hired him: "The man with the pot."

Authorities investigating the June 7 attack on Senator Miguel Uribe Turbay in Bogotá are working against the clock to identify the perpetrator of the attack, which has left the politician in critical condition . The latest lead points to an individual known in western Bogotá as "the pot man," who is allegedly the leader of a local micro-trafficking organization.
When he was arrested, the 14-year-old who shot Uribe Turbay was heard saying:
“It was the man with the pot, I'll tell you who it was, let me give you the numbers.”
The statement emerged while he was being subdued by members of the UNP security detail and the National Police, which has raised concerns among judicial and intelligence authorities.
Operations in Villas de Alcalá and nearby neighborhoodsSince early Monday morning, teams from the Attorney General's Office's CTI (Intelligent Technical Investigation Unit) along with National Police units have been conducting operations in the Villas de Alcalá neighborhood , located in the town of Engativá, where the minor lived with one of his aunts. The purpose of these operations is to locate the individual accused of being the alleged mastermind of the crime and who, according to sources involved in the case, is in charge of one of the main drug dealing centers in the area.
In addition, investigators have located two drug dealing sites near the young man's apartment complex, and door-to-door visits are being conducted to determine the identity of the person controlling drug trafficking in a nearby park.
A police officer told EL TIEMPO that “There are door-to-door inquiries asking for the name of the individual who controls traffic in one of the parks in the area.”
Two micro-trafficking structures under scrutinyAccording to information provided by authorities, two criminal gangs are suspected of operating in the area , specifically in the Unir and Garcés Navas neighborhoods, near Villas de Alcalá. These groups are believed to not only be in charge of drug distribution networks but may also be involved in the use of minors to carry out criminal acts.
The theory that organized crime masterminded the attack has gained momentum recently, primarily due to the speed of the attack (which lasted only 30 seconds) and the weapon used: a 9-millimeter Glock pistol.
More than 180 agents deployed and active monitoringThe investigation is being conducted with the collaboration of more than 180 experts , including members of the CTI (Critical Investigation Unit), the Dijín (National Intelligence Service), and the military intelligence team, who are already operating in Bogotá and various other locations. Law enforcement agencies have announced a reward of up to 3 billion pesos for information leading to the identification of the perpetrators and masterminds of the attack.
Meanwhile, the young man's cell phone, seen as a crucial element , has yet to be located, and finding it remains one of the operation's priorities. If recovered, it could provide access to call, message, and contact records that could corroborate the involvement of criminal organizations.
